Espressivo Singers is an auditioned women's choir based in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.

Formed in 2008, Espressivo Singers continues to develop as a group with aspirational standards, performing an eclectic mix of challenging equal voice choral repertoire.

Through the generous sponsorship of Durham College, Espressivo Singers rehearses at Durham College's main campus at Simcoe St and Conlin Rd in north Oshawa. The group performs two main concerts a year, in mid-December and early May, and also accepts invitations to perform in other venues throughout the Durham Region.

John-Charles Coolen, Director of Espressivo Singers, was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and currently lives in Ajax, Ontario. He has studied piano with Gem Fitch and Kaestner Robertson, organ with Keith Rasmussen and voice with Steven Henrikson.

As a freelance accompanist, conductor and church musician, he participates in a wide range of musical events througout theh eastern Greater Toronto Area, including current appointments with Durham Community Choir (Oshawa) , Espressivo Singers (Oshawa) , the Bronze Foundation (Toronto) and Bells of Bowmanville.
